Dog Collars - How to measure
If you are ever unsure on how to measure or what would best suit your dog, please email me or call me on 07552136725.
All measurements are in inches!
To take the measurement for a traditional plain collar, use a soft tape measure and place around the middle of your dog's neck (where the collar will lie) with two fingers underneath. Ensure the tape is not slack. For smaller dogs with fine coats, one finger should be enough. This measurement will be the middle hole of the collar and is the size you need to order.
For puppies or younger dogs who are still growing, please measure as above and advise me in the notes when ordering and I will make an allowance for growth.
Alternatively, if you have a collar that fits your dog well, please lay this out on the table and measure from where the leather goes around the buckle (not including the buckle) to the hole where the collar is currently fastened. If you would prefer, please send me the photo of the collar laid out on the table with the measuring tape alongside.
If you are unsure on which width you would like, either measure your current collar or you can use some paper cut to the different widths and see what looks best.
All collars are custom made for your dog so if you have any questions on measuring, please just message me!
